Three (3) Year Extended Mains/Cordless Power Tool Warranty (Valid from 01.01.2011)

This Hitachi Lithium Ion Product warranty is offered by Hitachi Power Tools (UK) Ltd (referred to hereinafter as "Hitachi Power Tools"), Precedent Drive, Rooksley, Milton Keynes, MK13 8PJ, against defective materials or workmanship.

Products covered:

All Hitachi cordless power tools purchased and delivered to an address in the United Kingdom.

All Hitachi mains power tools purchased and delivered to an address in the United Kingdom.

Products not covered:

Gas nailers. These are covered by the standard 12 month manufacturer’s warranty.

Petrol tools. These are covered by the standard 12 month manufacturer’s warranty, and are eligible for their own extended warranty.

Heated clothing

Fleet tools. These are covered by a 3 month warranty against manufacturing defects.

Hitachi power tools are warranted to the original owner to be free from defect in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year without registration which is extended to three (3) years from the original purchase date when successfully registered online at within four (4) weeks of the purchase date (see exceptions below).


This warranty extension offer does not cover items that Hitachi Power Tools deem to be consumable, for example:

This extended warranty offer is only open to Hitachi products purchased new within the UK bearing a visible serial number and ‘CE’ marking, which are registered to an address with a UK post code. This extended limited warranty is not available to hire fleet; a standard three (3) months is available only to fleet tools.

Defects in materials or workmanship or damages result from repairs or alterations which have been made or attempted by others or the unauthorised use of nonconforming parts.

The damage is due to normal wear and tear.

The damage is due to abuse (including overloading of the Hitachi Product beyond capacity), improper maintenance, neglect or accident.

The damage is due to use of the Hitachi Product after partial failure, use with improper accessories or non-compliance with operating instructions.

The damage is due to slight deviations from specification that do not affect tool function or value.

Owner’s Online Registration

The Owner’s online warranty registration must be completed by the original owner within four (4) weeks of the purchase date. This is a mandatory condition required for coverage under this warranty. Registration can only be made via the Internet at Registration shall only be possible if you agree to the storage of the data entered.

Should you choose not to complete the online warranty registration within four (4) weeks of purchase, your standard one (1) year warranty will not be affected.

Warranty Coverage

The warranty period begins from the time the tool is purchased from new. The starting date is the date on the original sales receipt. Services provided under the extended warranty to the tool do not renew or lengthen the warranty period.

Once a valid warranty claim has been received (within the warranty period) the defect shall be corrected by means of repair or equivalent replacement (in full working order). If the defective tool is replaced, the faulty machine shall become the property of Hitachi Power Tools.

A valid warranty claim requires the submission of the complete tool (with matching serial number to that on the registration form), the original sales receipt that must show model number and purchase date, and the warranty registration number.

Delivery charges for invalid claims may be charged at Hitachi Power Tools discretion. Invalid claims may be repairable, in which case an estimate of the costs involved could be offered.

Hitachi will only collect or repair tools purchased under warranty from a UK address.

Hitachi disclaims any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular use or purpose, and all other warranties. In no event shall Hitachi be liable for any incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any costs, legal fees, expenses, losses or delays alleged to be as a consequence of any damage to, failure of, or defect in any product including, but not limited to, any claims for loss of profits.
